Computer workstations - checklist

Index pagePrevious pageNext page  Print Version  Auf Deutsch umschalten IfADo

The checklist is based on the legal requirements of the German Computer Workplace Ordinance and the so-called validated ergonomic knowledge base. It originated from Seidel-Fabian's (1998) 'Checkliste für Bildschirmarbeitsplätze' and was repeatedly revised and updated, in the meantime. In doing so, the results of an expert survey on the adequate design of corresponding checklists were incorporated (Gude et al., 1998).

Download the checklist as a pdf file. If you don't have the required reader, you can get it from Adobe, free of charge. Answering 'No' to any of the items indicates a need for ergonomic modifications of the workstation.

In ErgoScenes, our training platform on the ergonomic design of work systems, you can practice the application of the checklist by analyzing different scenarios, which are presented as three-dimensional, interactive Virtual Environments.
